WELDING TESTS
16.01
On the day of hiring, provisions must be made immediately to test all welders, and provisions must be made for long term employees before their yearly test has to be taken. These tests shall be taken during working hours while in the employ of the employer. The employer shall provide a clean dry area for welding tests. Welders shall be paid four (4) hours pay per test or ticket. The union shall provide the CLRA with the most current list of certified welders who have successfully completed the various test and/or tickets. Weld testing shall be at a cost of $500 plus HST per welding ticket when testing is done at Local 740 training facility. Any test requested on alloys, the contractor is responsible for the supply of piping for coupons.
16.02
Should a secondary test be required by the employer, the employee shall be paid for the time required to take such a test.
