SHOP STEWARDS
20.01
The Business Manager or designate shall appoint Stewards where necessary from the Employees on site. A Steward shall be a qualified labourer performing the work of the craft and shall exercise no supervisory functions. There shall be no non-working Stewards. In addition to their duties as a worker they shall be permitted reasonable time without loss of pay to assist in adjusting differences or misunderstandings arising out of the interpretation, application or alleged violation of this Agreement. The Union shall notify the Employer in writing of the appointment of a Steward.
20.02
In the event of a reduction in the work force, the Steward shall be the last worker removed providing they are qualified to perform the work remaining to be done by the reduced work force. CLRA and LIUNA Local 1208 Collective Agreement 2022-2027
20.03
Where practical the Shop Steward shall be part of all overtime work force and shall be part of the work force remaining to do any extras obtained by the Employer on the job site provided that they are qualified to complete the work.
