PART XXIX UNDERGROUND OPERATIONS — Fire protection for ventilating systems

(1) An employer using an oil or gas fired system for heating ventilating air shall ensure that
583(a)
the system is installed and maintained in accordance with CSA B139 Installation Code for Oil-Burning Equipment, CSA B149.1 Natural Gas and Propane Installation Code and the National Fire Code of Canada; and structures housing fans that ventilate a part of the underground workings are constructed of noncombustible materials; and
583(b)
a log book is kept and maintained, in which are recorded the service, maintenance and tests of the system. pipes or ducts used to convey ventilating air are fabricated of material which will not continue to burn after removal of the heat source.
