(1) An employer shall ensure that
588(a)
in the event a booster fan or auxiliary fan stops, workers in an area that is affected by the stopping move to a place that is adequately ventilated; and inspected the area underground that is serviced by the auxiliary fan and has tested for flammable gases;
588(b)
a competent worker tests the affected area to ensure it is adequately ventilated before other workers enter the area. declared in writing that it is safe to restart the auxiliary fan; and
588(2)
An employer shall ensure that an auxiliary fan is not restarted unless a competent worker has

included a copy of the declaration in the supervisor's shift report.
