(1) An employer shall implement and document in writing a procedure, consistent with the requirements of this section, for the systematic examination, testing and maintenance of the hoist, safety devices and controls, sheave wheels, hoisting ropes, rope attachments, shaft conveyances and counterweights, and the procedure shall prescribe
626(a)
the frequency of each examination and test;
626(b)
the method to be used in each examination and test; and
626(c)
the criteria for assessing the results of each examination and test.
626(2)
The procedure referred to in subsection (1) shall be developed and overseen by a professional engineer.
