PART XIV CRANES, HOISTS AND OTHER LIFTING EQUIPMENT — Operator qualifications

(1) A crane or hoist shall only be operated by a qualified person who has been authorized to operate the equipment.
309(2)
An operator of a crane shall have an appropriate trade qualification valid in the province or be an apprentice indentured in the appropriate trade in the province, or have equivalent qualifications as determined by the Industrial Training Division of the Department of Education after the following dates:
309(a)
for a mobile crane operator, other than a boom truck operator, after January 1, 2011 ;
309(b)
for a tower crane operator in the construction industry, after January 1, 2011 ; and
309(c)
for an operator of a boom truck with a rated capacity of more than 10 tonnes, after January 1, 2012 .
