PART XIV CRANES, HOISTS AND OTHER LIFTING EQUIPMENT — Shift inspection

(1) An operator shall inspect the crane or hoist at the beginning of each shift and shall test control and safety devices in accordance with the manufacturer's specifications and the applicable safety code and regulations.
310(2)
A defect found by an operator during the inspection referred to in subsection (1) or during the use of the crane or hoist shall be:
310(a)
recorded in the inspection and maintenance record log; and
310(b)
reported to the supervisor who shall determine the course of action to be taken.
310(3)
Where a defect affects the safe operation of the crane or hoist, the equipment shall not be used until the defect has been remedied.
