PART VII PREGNANCY, ADOPTION AND PARENTAL LEAVE — Pregnancy leave
40(a)
at least 2 weeks written notice of the date the leave is to begin; and
40(b)
a certificate from a medical practitioner or nurse practitioner stating the estimated birth date.

(1) A pregnant employee who has been employed under a contract of service with the same employer for a period of 20 consecutive weeks immediately before the expected birth date is entitled to a leave of absence without pay.
40(2)
An employee may begin pregnancy leave no earlier than 17 weeks before the expected birth date.
