PART XXIX UNDERGROUND OPERATIONS — Clearances for mobile equipment

(1) In an underground haulageway where mobile equipment is used, an employer shall maintain
598(a)
a minimum total clearance of 1.5 metres between the sides of the workplace and the mobile equipment;
598(b)
a clearance of 300 millimetres above equipment having a covered cab;
598(c)
safety stations, at intervals not exceeding 30 metres, when the working is simultaneously used for pedestrian traffic and there is less than 2.1 metres total horizontal clearance; and
598(d)
a minimum one side clearance of 600 millimetres.

On a ramp in an underground haulageway where mobile equipment is used, the safety station may consist of a slash taken up-ramp to provide one face perpendicular to the ramp.
